Ramadan 2016 Revision Plan

Ramadan 2016 Revision Plan Not being actively able to recall portions of the Quran is genuinely a source of concern, misery and just very disheartening. I've decided to use this Ramadan to InshaAllah try and revise what has been learnt so far. What I have memorised so far (Alhamdulliah): Surah Baqarah Surah Ale-Imran Surah Kahf Surah Nisaa - 3 pages Total: 91 pages What I can comfortable recall: P1-10 Baqarah P1-2 Ale-Imran P1-3 Nisaa 15/91 = 16% 30 days of Ramadan. 10 at work = 2 pages = 20 20 not at work = 3 pages = 60 Should recover all InshaAllah 15/91 = 16%

Recovering from Injury - Plan to the End

Ok, so I've been in a cast (and I will be for at least another couple of months) and on crutches, there was the DVT scare, my brother was in hospital for a week. I'm back at work now, I have to be despite being on crutches otherwise I'm at risk of not progressing next year (doing 'audit' work - my consultant and department have been very good). BUT I need to not miss any more days now. Whatever happens, hifz has to remain consistent and had to remain constant. I've not read for a good couple of weeks now and pretty much lost all of Surah Al-Emran. I'm not too worried about this as I used to get. I learnt from my teacher - to keep moving forward. Keep memorising, dont stop that. Previously I would stop that and try and 'regain' what I had lost but in actual fact that just lead to laziness. By memorising a new portion (a page at present) every day - it keeps you on your toes. And I only need to a page a day of revision and inshallah in a co...

Injury, crutches, ?DVT

So this happened: I ruptured my achilles tendon. I've been in a cast for the last two weeks, on crutches. This has given me time off work but at the same time everthing else is taking longer to do. Not just that, over the last few days the pain has worsened significantly and a d-dimer test today (after waiting in A&E for 9 hours) was positive, indicating a likely dvt. We plan, but Allah plans... I will have to reschedule my hifz accordingly. If anyone is reading this, duas please... Also I havent been able to go to read to my teacher. We did try a few lessons on the phone. It actually worked suprisingly well initially but then we kept missing each other (one or the other was busy) and he went back to Egypt.
