P46/600 done + How I'm doing current Juz

Juz 1 and 2 revised. So on Juz 3 now, 5 pages in. My system for reviewing this current juz is to try and reduce each page to 1min or at least 1.20 - basically to get it fluent. To do this with each page of current juz and then join them together. Finally to recite what I've learnt so far of this Juz (minus today's page) 3 times. I've done this since the start of the Juz. Today's timings: To do as above for p42-45: 1hr 20mins  (97% efficiency). P42: 3mins P43: 6mins P44: 13mins P45: 18mins? P42-45 All in one go: 1) 5.59 2) 5.33 3) 5.23 Juz 1+2 recited.

44/600 done. Retention = 100%

P44 done. 58mins.

Day before page = down to 59secs

Had to do 10x to get it down to under 1 min. Albeit page I did (very badly) few months ago. And also half was Aytul Qursi. But let's see if this new system of hammering every page from the day after its learnt to under a minute works.

43/600 done. Retention = 100%. Jz2=25mins

P43 done. 54mins Juz 1 revised on way to work. Juz 2 at work, 25min 37secs. Still need to fix last few pages of Juz 2.

42/600 done. Retention = 100%

P42 done in 40mins (second half aytul qursi)

Juz 2 = 26 mins. Baqarah + Kahf vocab recovered

Took pretty much whole day to recover 2005 cards 4.5hrs study time to recover Baqarah and Kahf vocab. Juz 2 = 26mins. Last 3 pages still shakey.

Juz 1 + 2 = 45mins

Been doing Juz 1 + 2 for a week now. Mostly whilst driving. And fixing pages from latter part of Juz 2. Today: Juz 1 = 16.53 Juz 2 = 28 Total = 45mins Juz 2 especially second half hasn't become as smooth as I'd hoped. Tomorrow is Sunday, a day off, I'll try and recite it a few times and build up the fluency and speed iA. Also was speaking to my brother today who I think has nearly finished memorisation of the Quran MashaAllah, he said once he finishes a Juz he doesn't stop to 'consolidate' it because it is already learnt so well. So if you learn the Juz well as you go along you don't need to take a break afterwards.

Juz 1 + 2 all in one go = 45 mins

Sunday today only day off in week. Also had guests come over from London. Anyway fixed up pages 33-36 during day, reduces to 1min each page. Speed revision does improve fluency, if only from the time pressure. Did juz 1 and juz 2 together for first time in front of Mushaf (until now 1-1.5 juz whilst driving). Total = 45 mins 42 secs. Juz 1 = 17mins. Only had to look at Mushaf once I think. Juz 2 = 28mins. P37-41 patchy but inshaAllah hoping to fix up tomorrow in similar way that I fixed up 33-36 today. HUGELY SATISFYING THAT I CAN RECITE 2 COMPLETE JUZ FROM MEMORY. And I really want it to stay this way, that I can recite a Juz without 'revising'. I don't want to forget and relearn ever again if possible iA. I think it's very possible to revise up to 6 juz a day over 2hrs once fluent so IA doing that amount should keep things firm in my memory inshaAllah.

Juz 2 all in one go - day 2

39mins after long A&E shift. p22-p32 fine p33-41 rusty need to fix up. Felt apprehensive before starting but feel much better now. Sunday tomorrow, if I can go over p33-41 several times will be in much more comfortable position iA. Juz 1 - comfortably done on way to work.

Juz 2 in one go

Finally got Juz 2 done, whilst maintaining Juz 1. Juz 2 took 35 mins. Juz 2 is generally more difficult than Juz 1 as there a lot of complex 'fiqh' passages and variations on summary passages. Must do every day until Jan 1 inshaAllah. Juz 1 - I've been doing this almost every day since 18 Sept. Maybe missed one day. Can easily do this whilst driving to work (40min journey). Easier whilst driving on the motorway as less distractions. Still intent on doing Juz1 until end of November at least (2.5 months) before considering every other day. Alhamdulillah.
